The nursery provides a breakfast for our early birds consisting of a variety of different cereals, a two course lunch and also two nutritious snacks mid morning and mid afternoon. Whilst babies are in the younger rooms (B1 & B2) we offer a hot cooked meal as an alternative to these afternoon snacks but when they enter into B3 the children will be offered the same snack menu as the older children to see them through until their tea with you at home. All menus can be looked through at any time and are displayed in the main hallway but the staff will always give feedback at the end of the day and let you know what they have eaten.
Due to the fact we only have a limited amount of places, the days you choose when enrolling will become your set days and cannot be swapped from week to week. Many parents ask us to do extra days on top of what they already do and we will always endeavor to accommodate these where we can. When looking at our fee structure each year and deciding on our charges we calculate things like extra days and fit these into our fee structure. Enabling days to be swapped would make it impossible for us to manage occupancy levels and would result in higher fees.
Your child will be given a peg in each of the rooms they are in throughout their time at nursery and a pump bag will be provided and clearly marked with your child’s name. The staff in the rooms will do everything they can to ensure there are no mix ups but occasionally parents or grandparents can pick up the wrong items by mistake. The best advice we can give is to write your child’s name in items of clothing etc but ultimately the nursery cannot accept responsibility for lost items brought into the nursery.
When starting nursery you are paying for a place on a long term basis and as such you are still required to pay for that place regardless of your child’s attendance including absence due to holidays or sickness. The nursery closes for one week at Christmas and this is a non fee paying week. All other holidays throughout the year are payable (including bank holidays). We appreciate it would be helpful to have some weeks where you do not have to pay for holidays or sick days but this would have to be reflected in the costs somewhere and would result in higher fees.
If paying weekly we do require payments to be made at the beginning of the week you are in, if paying monthly we do accept that payments will need to be larger and as such will allow these to be made within the month as long as fees are clear by month end. Payment methods vary from bank transfers (our preferred method) to cheques, cash or through workplace vouchers (Ask about these at the office if you are unsure). It is our policy to only give statements out when specifically requested by parents, the frequency of these is entirely up to you and you only need to ask when you come in. If accounts get into arrears we will endevour to bring this to your attention but ultimately, as we have over 160 accounts to manage, it is your responsibility to keep payments up to date.
