Oakmount has been awarded with South Ribble Borough Council's award for healthy eating in early years settings (1 of only 2 nurseries in the borough to be initially awarded this) and is also proud to boast a 5 star rating for kitchen hygiene from the environmental health department. All of the fruit, vegetables, meat and eggs that go into our menu’s are bought in from local farms and suppliers. We feel that it is not only important to help support our shops and keep money in the local economy but also to teach children that not all the food that arrives on our plates does so via supermarket checkouts. All of our vegetables and fruits are supplied to us by husband and wife team Keith and Susan who run ‘Holland house farm shop’. Everything we buy is chosen fresh and handpicked by Keith and is either picked up or delivered the same day ensuring only the freshest fruit and veg go into our meals. All of our meat products are bought in from ‘Kavanagh’s Butchers’ in Clayton le Woods. Everything is prepared fresh on the day we collect and the butchers Pat and Ben are always happy to take a bit of extra time ensuring all the meat is ready to make the children’s dinners. All of the fish we buy we get from ‘Darren’s fresh fish’. Not only do they prepare our orders in advance to pick up fresh on the morning we need them, but they are always happy to give us plenty of great menu ideas along with a smile and a chat. Please brows below through the gallery where we are happy to show the kitchen facilities and just a selection of the meals and snacks we provide for the children. We are more than happy to provide recipes for any dishes we serve, you only need to ask.....
